2015 Study Abroad Partial Scholarships
Birth Institute is proud to offer two study abroad scholarships each year! Awards range from $1,350 to $3,200. Scholarships are intended to promote diversity and to support single women earning less then $30,000 per year, or less then $50,000 per year for married women and those who have dependents.
Please note: Students are responsible for paying a minimum placement fee of $1,800 plus all travel and food costs associated with international volunteer placement. APPLY BY NOVEMBER 1, 2014
To be considered, please submit a complete application (including resume, proof of experience, references, etc) in addition to a one-page, typed statement about why you believe you should be one of two recipients of study abroad tuition scholarships in 2015. All of the above must be submitted by midnight on November 1, 2014. As a scholarship applicant, you are not required to pay the $75 application fee.
Who are we looking for?
We actively seek and encourage participation of under-represented groups, especially women of color and single mothers. Strong candidates will demonstrate financial need, be committed to midwifery leadership and have a track record of academic and professional excellence. Maturity, open-mindedness, flexibility and enthusiasm are qualities we seek in all of our students, but especially in scholarship applicants.
REQUIRED: Students will be responsible for meeting technology and travel requirements for the program/course, as stated in the course catalog, at their own expense.
